Nov. 7 (UPI) -- The Miami Heat will be without veteran star Dwyane Wade on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs.

Miami announced Wade's status Wednesday, before the squad takes on the Spurs at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami. Heat center Hassan Whiteside is expected to play, after dealing with a knee injury. Heat guard Goran Dragic (right knee) is questionable for the 7:30 p.m. clash.

Wade has not missed a game this season. He is averaging 14.3 points and shooting 45 percent from the floor through nine games while coming off of the bench. The Heat are also without Dion Waiters and James Johnson.

The 36-year-old Wade had 18 points in the Heat's overtime win against the Detroit Pistons on Monday at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. The Heat recalled two-way forward Duncan Robinson from the G League Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Wade played in 67 games last season for the Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers.
