Nov. 5 (UPI) -- The Miami Heat will sport a new edition of their Vice uniforms this season.

Miami unveiled the new garb on Monday. The jerseys feature a black base with Miami written on the chest in retro blue gale, paying homage to the team's 1988 days. The player numbers are colored in laser fuchsia. Those same bright colors follow the trim on the kit, with the fuchsia outlining the script Miami and joining the blue gale along the neckline, arm line, at the waist and along the shorts.

The Heat's full collection for the color schemed apparel will be released at midnight on Thursday.

Miami released Miami Vice-Themed jerseys last season with a white base. They went on extended backorder when Dwyane Wade arrived via trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team announced the Vice Nights on Monday and will host its first event on Friday at AmericanAirlines Arena, beginning at 12:01 a.m. Those who buy jerseys at the event will also received Vice-themed gifts.

"I think it's better than the white ones," Wade told reporters on Monday. "The white was cool. But I think the black is what everybody has been waiting for. So, it's dope."
