Zion Williamson one-ups LiAngelo Ball in Instagram dunk-off

By Alex Butler

May 29 (UPI) -- Duke freshman Zion Williamson responded to LiAngelo Ball's dunk video with one of his own Tuesday on Instagram.

Ball -- who attended a pre-draft workout with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday -- posted a video of himself dunking at the team's facility on Monday.

"Dead legs," he wrote on the screen of the Instagram footage. Ball then bounced the basketball into the paint and off of the backboard, before jumping up and slamming it through with his right hand.

Not to be outdone, Williamson responded Tuesday afternoon. The Blue Devils phenom -- who has gone viral over the years for his vicious slams -- also used the caption "dead legs" before his throw down.

Williamson did a soft shot into the paint before jumping and putting the ball behind his back. He brought the ball around and slammed it with his right hand.

Williamson, 17, the No. 2 player in the 2018 ESPN 100 high school basketball prospect rankings, committed to play for the Blue Devils in January. The 6-foot-7 phenom won the 2018 McDonald's All-American Dunk Contest in March.

Ball, 19, did not play in the McDonald's All-American Game but did earn a scholarship to UCLA. He left the school in 2017 to start his professional basketball career in Lithuania. LaMelo Ball, the youngest ball brother, faced off against Williamson in an AAU game in July.

Williamson's squad won that game 104-92.
