Heat's Wade screams 'This is my house' after sinking Sixers with jumper

Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Dwyane Wade's Miami homecoming got an exclamation point after the Heat veteran yelled "This is my house" when he made a decisive shot against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Miami Heat star pulled off the heroics on Tuesday in a 102-101 win against the 76ers at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami. Wade -- known as a 'closer' throughout his decorated career -- did just that with the Heat down 101-100 and 13.4 seconds remaining on the clock. He dribbled laterally above the 3-point line, sizing up defenders, before making his move.

Wade initially drew the defense of forward Robert Covington, before he deployed a nifty behind-the-back move to send him out of position. Sixers star Ben Simmons then ran up to guard the 12-time All-Star. Wade dribbled and danced just above the free throw line before throwing in a subtle hesitation move to get some space from Simmons. He then stepped back for a difficult jump shot from the left side of the key.

Wade sank the shot, as just 5.9 seconds remained on the clock. His basket gave the Heat a one-point advantage. He left his right hand linger in the air to savor the moment.

He then dropped that hand in order to point at the floor. Wade yelled "this is my house," while emphatically jumping up and down on the court.

"We won a close game that we needed to win," Wade said in his postgame on-court interview. "It means time for us, especially at home, to win these ballgames. They aren't all going to be pretty. You're not going to win them all by 10 and 20 points, so you gotta find a way to win games. And tonight, we could have put our head in our hands and said 'here we go again.' But we didn't."

"We kept trying to make plays. We stuck together. And we got it to work."

Wade scored 15 of the Heat's final 17 points and had a game-high 27 points off of the bench in the victory.

The three-time NBA champion spent the first 13 years of his career with the Heat before joining the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers in the previous two seasons. The Cavaliers traded Wade back to Miami on February 8.
