Feb. 20 (UPI) -- NBA big man Steven Adams says he'll go to prom with a Twitter user, but he responded three years too late.
The Oklahoma City Thunder veteran replied to @itsloyo on Tuesday. The Twitter user, Lauren from Tulsa, Ok., originally tweeted Adams on Jan. 27, 2015.
"Hey @RealStevenAdams, if I get 1,000 retweets will you go to my law school's prom with me?! #FunakiProm," she tweeted.

Her tweet has more than 2,300 retweets and 4,200 likes.
"Absolutely," Adams tweeted Monday. His delayed response has 1,400 retweets and 5,800 likes.
Lauren had her original goal of 1,000 retweets in less than 24 hours. Her first post also featured a photoshopped image of the 'couple' standing in front of Egyptian pyramids while wearing Thunder jerseys.
Because she is now out of law school, Lauren suggested they change the venue from law prom to lawyer prom. She also speculated that she might ask him to go to her firm's Christmas party.
Maybe Adams will get back to her on that -- in 1,000 days.
