Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Big Baller Brand boss LaVar Ball is taking the stage Thursday on Lip Sync Battle and he apparently needs to read up on his Nas lyrics.

Ball -- the father of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball -- gave a taste of what his performance will look like in a preview for the show. In the clip, the 50-year-old jumps around the stage, attempting to mouth the words to Hate Me Now.

But his lip movements don't seem to match any of the words playing in the song.

Lonzo sat stage left of his dad with blank stare, while co-host LL Cool J appeared to enjoy the rendition of the 1999 hit.

"Can I tell you something, LL? If I was Nas, I'd be mad he put on a performance like that on my song," Lonzo said after hearing his dad.

The song choice was an interesting one from LaVar. Lonzo -- an aspiring rapper in his own right -- drew heat last year for a perceived slight aimed at the Brooklyn-born artist.

The Lakers rookie dissed Nas during an episode of his family's reality series Ball in the Family. During the show, Ball called those who listen to Nas "outdated." He also said "don't nobody listen to Nas no more."

Lonzo said "real hip-hop is Migos and Future." The Lakers youngster continued his 'beef' with the rapper in December, wearing a sweatshirt with his face edited onto one of Nas' albums.

The oldest Ball brother is currently sidelined, due to a sprained left MCL.
