Atlanta Hawks marrying couple from 'Swipe Right' Tinder night

By Alex Butler

Feb. 15 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Hawks are hosting and paying for a couple's wedding after they met at the franchise's "Swipe Right" Tinder night.

Ben McCleskey and Avery Armstrong are getting married at center court on Saturday, March 3 at Philips Arena in Atlanta. They met in 2015 -- while both students at Shorter University -- at the Hawks' first "Swipe Right Night" themed game.

Fans meet up with their matches from the popular dating app, in real time, during the Hawks' promotion. In 2016, Philips Arena offered to serve as the future wedding location for the duo. After dating for two years, and having a newborn baby, McCleskey and Armstrong took the Hawks up on the offer.

Hawks CEO Steve Koonin extended the invitation for the pricy ceremony.

The event will be followed by a reception, including more than 200 guests.

"Ben and I are beyond thankful for everything that the Atlanta Hawks have done for us," Armstrong told the Hawks' website.

"Philips Arena is where it all began and it just seems fitting that the next big milestone in our lives together happens there. The stylists at David's Bridal helped me find the dress of my dreams! It made this entire experience even better."

David's Bridal partnered with the Hawks to provide dresses for Armstrong's mother, flower girl and 11 bridesmaids.

"Avery and Ben: We are super excited for how your relationship has grown since you met at our first Swipe Right Night, and I will absolutely make good on my promise for the Hawks to host your wedding," Koonin said in July. "We can't wait to start making plans and meet your new little one."
