Cavaliers' LeBron James blocks Timberwolves' Tyus Jones into next week

Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James looked like he was Tyus Jones' older brother playing ball in the driveway with a huge block on the Minnesota Timberwolves guard.

The play occurred with about 5:30 remaining in the first half Monday at the Target Center in Minneapolis. Jeff Green lost the ball on a Cavaliers possession, putting the Timberwolves in transition. Jones dribbled down the left side of the court, with his eyes set on a coast-to-coast bucket.

He had a two-on-one going with teammate Jimmy Butler. Unfortunately for Jones, the defender was King James.

Jones took flight for a left handed finish, but his soft approach was no match for James. The Cavaliers forward swatted the ball with his right hand, sending it into the seats.

But Jones would have the last laugh. The Timberwolves guard got his score a few minutes later when Jones led the break in transition. He received a pass, but made enough space between himself and James to dunk the ball safely on the other end.

James scored just 10 points and had eight rebounds and five assists in the loss.

He also recorded the worst plus-minus of his career.

"I don't care about no [expletive] plus-minus," James told reporters, according to Cleveland.com. "I've won a game and had a bad plus-minus before so what does that matter. I don't give a [expletive] about no [expletive] plus-minus."

Jones scored six points and had eight assists for the Timberwolves. Andrew Wiggins led all scorers with 25 points.

"They put a good one on us. We had some really good looks to start the game," James told reporters, according to Fox Sports Ohio. "[They] jumped out to a 20-4 lead and we got it to 14 at the end of the first but we didn't get any closer than that."
