Dump truck falls into Evan Turner's pool

By Alex Butler

Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Portland Trail Blazers forward Evan Turner had a dump truck land in his swimming pool on Wednesday morning.

Portland Fire and Rescue arrived after the truck driver failed to complete the hairpin turn above Turner's house. Instead, the truck went forward, stumbling over an embankment and rolling down the hill, before coming to a dead stop on the deck and pool area. The vehicle was partially submerged in the cold pool water.

The driver was cut out of the truck and suffered serious injuries, before being taken to the hospital, according to multiple reports.

The accident took place at the southwest Portland home while Turner was inside with two other people, according to Fox 12 Oregon. KATU reported that Turner's chef held the driver's head out of the water for 10 minutes before emergency services arrived. The truck was hauling mud.

"Right now, y'all. Me and Scott made it out. We weren't sure we'd ever see you guys again on Snapchat or Instagram but we made it out ok," Turner said in a video, posted by the Blazers. "It's tough. Wednesday morning man."

Turner also suggested that MTV Cribs should come to his house after the pool gets fixed.

Turner, 29, is averaging 7.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game this season. He signed a four-year, $70 million contract with the Blazers in July of 2016.
