Golden State Warriors: Stephen Curry reveals team's 'never seen it' game

Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors actually play two games most nights: one against their foe and another between each other.

It's called "Never seen it."

Isn't that what everyone else already says about the Warriors? Maybe so, but Curry & Co. enjoy the game, nonetheless.

Curry poured in a game-high 30 points in Sunday's 123-95 thrashing of the Miami Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena. He also had three assists and two steals.

One of those 'never seen it' moments came at the 9:10 mark in the third quarter. Golden State led Miami 74-62 and Curry was handling the ball beyond the 3-point line. He pulled off a shot fake to draw in the defender, before turning and tossing in a pass to a driving Kevin Durant. The 'Durantula' finished the play with a lay-up as the shot clock time expired.

"The play to KD was just kind of, I got trapped a little bit," Curry said after the game. "It was kind of a risky pass, but obviously KD has some length and I kind of put it in a place where he could catch it and was able to finish it."

Curry pulled off another fantastic move with 7:22 left in the third frame. The Warriors' point guard brought in a Durant pass under the rim, while being defended by the Heat's Goran Dragic. He posted up the Heat guard, bodying Dragic and pushing him off of the ball. Curry then threw up a circus shot, banking the ball off of the backboard, to give the Warriors an 80-63 edge.

"When something happens on the floor that's uncharacteristic, we always yell 'never seen it,'" Curry said. "And that was something that we've never seen. I don't know if you call it a post move, just me down there trying to get a shot up. So I was having some fun with that one."

The Warriors outscored the Heat 37-17 in the third quarter, after leading by just two points at halftime.

"We played great defense, kept them to 17 points," Curry said. "Obviously that gives us a lot of fast break opportunities inside half court, possessions of offense where we can execute. We obviously made shots, but that gave us a lot of momentum on the road against a scrappy Miami team."

Warriors forward Draymond Green agreed about the defense picking up in the victory.

"Not everybody wants to play defense, so just having that urge and will to go out there ever night," Green said.

Durant said the Warriors couldn't afford to "size up" their Sunday foes.

"We're not that good to just size somebody up and let them do what they want," Durant said. "They came out and played aggressively and physical and made shots. But after a while our defense picked up and we were able to get out. Coach called some great plays and we executed them."

The Warriors had Saturday off, but face the New Orleans Pelicans at 8 p.m. Monday at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
