City of Charlotte trolls Cleveland Cavaliers before taking loss

Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Sometimes it's best to save the trash talk until after the game.

Especially when you are facing the "King."

Cleveland beat the Charlotte Hornets 115-107 on Wednesday at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte. The victory gave the Cavaliers their third consecutive win, Cleveland's longest winning streak of the season.

Before the contest, the City of Charlotte tweeted at the Cavaliers, in a response to a tweet from the Hornets' official Twitter account.

"Wonder if the @Cavs plan on taking the light rail to this loss they're about to collect tonight," the city tweeted.

The slight was a nod at the Cavaliers' trip to New York City earlier this week. Cleveland took the MTA subway system from its morning shoot around Monday back to the team hotel. The MTA responded to the move on its Twitter account, saying that Kristaps Porzingis was the King of New York.

James and the Cavaliers came back from 23 points down to beat the Knicks 104-101. James netted a game-high 31 points on Wednesday in Cleveland's victory.

Cleveland and Charlotte face off again at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
