Guy LeBron James filmed on NYC subway before the Knicks game has response

Nov. 14 (UPI) -- James Michael Angelo is the man who asked LeBron James "can you not?" after being filmed Monday on an NYC subway. Now he has a response.

Angelo made the most interesting cameo in a 53-second video shot by James Monday, as the Cleveland Cavaliers were riding the C train from morning shoot around back to the team hotel.

James first used the clip to scan around and show his teammates, explaining why they were riding the train. It was James' first subway ride in New York City.

King James eventually panned over to the man sitting next to him. The man, wearing headphones and staring at his phone, stared directly into the camera.

"I don't know this dude right here. He tripping." James said in the video.

"Can you not?" the man said, before using his hand to block the camera.

Angelo appeared to have no idea who James was.

On Tuesday, he confirmed as much.

"Hi everybody, it's me James Michael Angelo, but I just want you to refer to me from here on out as 'can you not?'" Angelo said in a video posted to his Twitter account.

"That's my new name. So a couple of things: first of all, I don't have a wife. Second of all, I had no idea who LeBron James was, because I don't watch football."

The person filming the video then corrected Angelo to say that James plays basketball.

"Oh it's basketball? Ok so I don't watch basketball. And LeBron, I just want you to know that I'm coming for you, ok?"

In James' original Uninterrupted footage, it appears that a team security guard helps to move the man away from James and the video. James confirmed that on Monday with a tweet.

"In my homie Russ voice "Why Not." P.S. Had to calm Brown [security] down so he would[n't] hurt this guy. #SubwayChronicles," James tweeted.

On Facebook, Angelo claimed that James kept elbowing him in the face and wasn't very apologetic.

"So this morning I was on the train and out of nowhere a crowd of ENORMOUS basketball players got on the train and pretty much crushed me," Angelo wrote in a post Monday on Facebook. "The guy next to me kept nearly elbowing me in the face, I nicely asked him to watch my head. He wasn't very apologetic. Then he decided to put me in his movie, and I hadn't had my coffee yet. Thanks Lebron James. #unknowinggay."

The Cavaliers came back to beat the New York Knicks 104-101 Monday at Madison Square Garden.
