Nov. 11 (UPI) -- A man named Dave used the Toronto Raptors' Dance Pak to propose to his now fiancé Joann Thursday at the Air Canada Centre.
Dave made wedding ring moves at the 2:49 mark of the first quarter. The Raptors trailed the New Orleans Pelicans 20-17 at the time.
Toronto won the contest 122-118.
The couple was playing the "Guess the Destination" contest with Raptors in-game TV host Kat Stefankiewicz. Joann had to spin a wheel to determine the number of cards that the dance team could hold up, revealing letters. The letters typically spell out a destination, where the winner gets to go if they correctly guess the answer.
She spun the wheel, getting a "5" and the dancers revealed five letters.
The dancers revealed, in order, the letters: I, L, U, A and E.
The fans then asked the dancers to reveal the rest of the letters, unveiling the big question: "Will you marry me?"
Dave bent down on one knee and asked: "Joann, will you marry me?"
Joann put her hands over her face and screamed: "Yes!" Dave slipped the ring on her finger.
So happy for these guys! Glad to have had a part in the "secret plan"!!! https://t.co/00tiEMTwCZ
