Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz will be sidelined indefinitely with the right shoulder injury that has hampered his early season play, the team announced Sunday.

The 76ers said Fultz will be re-evaluated in three weeks.

Fultz visited with several shoulder specialists and was found to be suffering from a scapular muscle imbalance in the right shoulder. No structural damage was discovered.

Fultz, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2017 NBA draft, has been bothered by the injury and even changed the mechanics of his free-throw shooting due to the issue.

His play has suffered and he averaged 6.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in four games before missing Philadelphia's last two contests. Fultz was just 9 of 27 from the field and 6 of 12 from the free-throw line.

Fultz averaged 23.2 points in his one and only college season at Washington.
