Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Kyrie Irving says he doesn't regret shouting an expletive at a fan Friday at halftime of a Boston Celtics game.
The Celtics guard was walking into the tunnel at the break of Friday's 102-92 win against the Philadelphia 76ers when the sequence occurred.
Fans at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia were shouting down at Irving after the 76ers took a 50-46 lead into the locker room.
"[Expletive] my [expletive]," Irving yelled at the crowd, after a fan asked: "Kyrie, where's LeBron?"
Irving scored a game-high 21 points and had six rebounds and four assists in the win.
He was asked Saturday if he regretted the clap-back at the fans.
"Hell no," Irving told reporters, according to multiple outlets. "[The fan was] man enough to record it on video, then that's all him. I'm glad he got his [social media] name out there and then, kinda, 5 seconds of fame and it going viral -- that's the social media platform we live on. I take full responsibility what I said and excuse [to] the kids at home and you move on."
Irving told reporters that he has heard from the NBA, but did not reveal if he will be fined for the vulgar exchange.
The Celtics face the New York Knicks at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at TD Garden.
