The Miami Heat exercised their fourth-year option on forward Justise Winslow, the team announced Tuesday.

The Heat had until Oct. 16 to exercise that option for Winslow, who is guaranteed $3.44 million for the 2018-19 season. Had Miami elected against the move, Winslow would have become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Winslow was limited to just 18 games last season because of multiple injuries, including a shoulder ailment that required surgery.

The 21-year-old Winslow was named to the NBA's All-Rookie second team in 2015-16. He has averaged 7.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 96 games since being selected by Miami with the 10th overall pick in the 2015 draft.
