June 2 (UPI) -- To say the Cleveland Cavaliers got outplayed by the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the NBA Finals would be a severe understatement. LeBron James had a hand in several defensive lapses during the lopsided loss.
One of those blunders came in the first quarter. With 4:22 on the clock, Stephen Curry tossed a cross-court bounce pass to Kevin Durant on the wing. Durant received the ball and eyed a 3-point attempt, prompting James to sprint toward him and defend. But when James arrived, Durant took a quick jab step to his right. James tried to react, but his ankles gave out and he fell to the floor. Durant drove to the hoop uncontested for a one-handed slam.
After the game, James told reporters that "KD" was the one thing that stood out about the Warriors in the 113-91 loss.
"I mean, you take one of the best teams that has ever been assembled last year, that we saw in the regular season and in the postseason, and then in the offseason you add a high-powered offensive talent like that and a great basketball IQ like that? That's what stands out," James told reporters.
"I mean, there's no if, ands or buts. It is what it is. We've got to figure out how to combat that, which is going to be a tough challenge for us."

Durant had 23 points, six assists and four rebounds in the first half. He finished with a game-high 38 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
In the third quarter, it was Curry's turn to do James dirty off the dribble.
Curry, known for his ridiculous ball control, faced up with J.R. Smith at the top of the 3-point arc, and used a screen to get free to his right. James then rushed to defend the point guard. Curry deployed a nasty inside-out dribble with his right hand, getting James off balance. James floated away and Curry splashed in a silky shot from downtown.
'King James' displayed several other lapses on defense, some showing an obvious lack of effort.
LeBron led the Cavaliers with 28 points and eight assists. He also had 15 rebounds. Curry netted 28 points and had 10 helpers. He swished 6-of-11 3-point attempts.
