The NBA fined Houston owner Leslie Alexander $100,000 following his confrontation with referee Bill Kennedy during the Rockets' 105-99 series-clinching win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night at Toyota Center.
Byron Spruell, president, NBA League Operations, announced the fine.
With 13 seconds remaining in the first quarter, Alexander left his courtside seat and headed toward referee Bill Kennedy. As Kennedy stood along the sideline watching the play, Alexander walked up to him, yelled something and then walked back to his seat as Kennedy turned and glanced at him briefly. Kennedy did not appear to say anything.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Alexander would not comment after the game Tuesday, saying only that at the time he was: "upset, very upset."
