April 20 (UPI) -- Dwight Howard was at a loss for words Thursday morning after the Atlanta Hawks' loss to the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center.

The center managed just six points and seven rebounds in the 109-101 defeat. Howard and the Hawks now trail 2-0 in the first round Eastern Conference playoff series.

After the contest, multiple reporters fired questions at Howard. He repeated the same answer three times: "I don't know." A dejected Howard then turned and left the room slowly.

Howard, 31, is making $23.1 million this season and is due more than $23 million in 2017 and 2018. The eight-time All-Star averaged 13.5 points per game this season, the lowest mark since his rookie year.

Howard had seven points and 14 rebounds in Game 1 of the series.

The Hawks host the Wizards at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Philips Arena.
