March 2 (UPI) -- Legend, meet legend.

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers might have lost to the Boston Celtics Wednesday at TD Garden, but 'King James' won in the eyes of many Boston sports fans.

James elevated to the clouds for a block with 7:53 remaining in the contest. When he came to the floor, his momentum carried him toward the first row of fans. After dancing around a sitting cameraman, James held up just in time so he didn't truck possibly the greatest coach in NFL history, Bill Belichick.

"Yeah that's why I slowed up," James told reporters after the game when asked if he knew it was Belichick as he was falling. "I don't know if I'm on his level, but I definitely slowed up because I knew it was him. I'm not taking no legend out. I need to keep seeing him win, so that's pretty cool."

The New England Patriots coach was sitting courtside with his wife. The Celtics won the game 103-99.

"[Had] a great conversation with Coach Belichick after the game! Things like that I'll remember forever," James tweeted.

The Cavaliers battle the Atlanta Hawks at 7 p.m. Friday at Philips Arena.
