LeBron James taunts New York Knicks, Phil Jackson on Instagram

Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Leave it to the King to jump out of his throne and into the headlines.

LeBron James thrust himself into the Charles Oakley saga Wednesday on Instagram. The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar was busy beating the Indiana Pacers earlier that evening, but took some time to shade the storied franchise. Oakley, a former Knicks star, was kicked out and later arrested by New York City police after fighting in the stands Wednesday at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks lost 119-115 to the Los Angels Clippers.

James posted a photo of Oakley with the caption: "Mood!! #Legend." Knicks president Phil Jackson and James' friend Carmelo Anthony are currently at odds. The Knicks' All-Star forward was linked to a trade to the Cavaliers, before James' franchise rejected the offer.

This isn't the first time James has shown his opposition to Jackson. The four-time MVP and three-time NBA champion said he "had" respect for the coaching legend before Jackson called James' friends a "posse" in November.

"I don't believe that Phil Jackson would have used that term if he was doing business with someone else and working with another team," James told reporters. "Or if he was working with anybody in sports that was owning a team that wasn't African-American and had a group of guys around [him and] didn't agree with what they did, I don't think he would have called them a posse. But it just shows how far we have to go."

The Cavaliers battle the Knicks at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 at Quicken Loans Arena.
