LaVine was injured with 7:20 remaining in the third quarter of Friday's 116-108 road loss to the Detroit Pistons.
He drove through the lane, attempted a layup while colliding with Detroit center Andre Drummond near the basket. LaVine made the shot but fell hard and clutch his left knee.
LaVine actually played for nearly another six minutes and the first 37 seconds of the fourth quarter before leaving the game.
LaVine won the NBA dunk contest in his first two seasons. This year, the former UCLA standout is averaging career-highs of 18.9 points, 3.4 assists and 37.2 minutes per game.
