Golden State Warriors center Zaza Pachulia will be sidelined for at least a week with a strained right rotator cuff.
Pachulia was hurt diving for a loose ball in Sunday's win at Portland. An MRI on Tuesday revealed the severity of the injury.
"Landed on the ball and all this weight," Pachulia told the San Jose Mercury News. "I'm not saying I'm fat, but all the weight put pressure on the shoulder. I knew something was wrong."
The 6-foot-11 Pachulia, in his first season with the Warriors, will be re-evaluated in a week. He will miss at least three games but told the newspaper he felt improved range of motion on Wednesday.
A 14-year veteran, Pachulia is averaging 5.9 points and 6.0 rebounds in 44 games. He scored 14 points against the Trail Blazers and averaged 8.4 points in January.
