Carmelo Anthony told reporters Wednesday he is tired of answering questions about his relationship with New York Knicks president Phil Jackson.

Sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne on Tuesday that Jackson asked Anthony during their meeting this week whether the star forward wanted to remain with the team.

"The conversation wasn't that long," Anthony said at the Knicks' morning shootaround in Boston, where the Knicks face the Celtics on Wednesday night. "We didn't break bread. We didn't have an hour's conversation. It was a short conversation."

Anthony, talking to reporters for the first time since his meeting with Jackson, was asked whether he is weary of answering questions on the topic.

"You get tired of it," Anthony said. "You get tired of it. I have to face you all every day. I'm the one that got to have all the answers. I'm the one that got to kind of make up something. Even when I don't want to talk to you all, I still talk to you all. It happens. That's part of the job."

The nine-time All-Star, who has a no-trade clause, reiterated he plans to remain in New York.

"I think, as players, you always want to protect yourself," Anthony said of the no-trade clause. "I didn't think it would get to this point. I think, as a player, if you can get (a no-trade clause), you have a right to protect yourself and take care of yourself when it comes to that. It's very hard to get, very difficult to get. I have it and that's that.

"I'm committed (to staying). I don't have to prove that to anybody. I don't think I have to keep saying that. I don't think I have to keep talking about that. I know for a fact that people see that. ... I'm done asking why. My focus is playing ball at this point."

The 32-year-old Anthony is averaging 22.2 points and 6.0 rebounds through 41 games this season with the Knicks, who are currently 11th in the Eastern Conference standings with an 18-24 record. The Knicks have lost 11 of their last 13 games.

"Yeah, I'm numb. It's water off my back at this point," Anthony said of the drama surrounding him and the team this season.
