CLEVELAND, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- James Jones is the only player in the Cleveland Cavaliers locker room with as many Larry O'Brien trophies as LeBron James.

The Cavaliers made sure to hang on to that veteran presence Monday, when it agreed to terms with the 35-year-old sharpshooter.

The world champions signed Jones to a one-year, $1.55 million deal, according to multiple sources.

In December, James called Jones his "favorite player of all-time."

"I told J.J., as long as I'm playing, he's going to be around," James told ESPN. "He's not allowed to stop playing basketball. So, I'm going to make sure I got a roster spot for him. I love him. He's the greatest teammate I've ever had."

Jones averaged 3.7 points and one rebound per game last season for the Cavaliers.
