CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 5 (UPI) -- One of several seven-foot centers switched teams Monday.
Former Los Angeles Lakers center Roy Hibbert will suit up for the Charlotte Hornets, after being acquired by the team on the July 4 holiday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 5 (UPI) -- One of several seven-foot centers switched teams Monday. Former Los Angeles Lakers center Roy Hibbert will suit up for the Charlotte Hornets, after being acquired by the team on the July 4 holiday.
Hibbert agreed to a one-year, $5 million deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical.
The 29-year-old averaged just 5.9 points and 4.9 rebounds in 23.2 minutes per game in one year in Los Angeles. He averaged 11.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in 533 contests for the Indiana Pacers in the seven seasons before moving to California.

Last March, Hibbert talked to the Los Angeles Daily News about his on-court decline.
"I honestly don't know," Hibbert told the Daily News. "I can't put a word on it or explain this season as well as my lack of success or the team."
