OAKLAND, Calif., June 6 (UPI) -- Could Klay, Draymond, Steph, and Kerr trump Magic, Kareem, and Riley?
That's what Golden State Warriors' Klay Thompson thinks. Thompson, whose father Mychal played for the 'Showtime' Los Angeles Lakers, said his team was better than his dad's dominating crew.
When reporters talked to the Warriors after its 110-77 win against Cleveland Sunday, they asked forward Draymond Green if his team was one of the best ever.
"No, we've got two more wins before you can even consider saying that," Green said after Sunday's NBA Finals Game 2. "I don't really look at are you the best team of all time, are we the best team of all time? Because I think it's all subjective. To say we're better than the Showtime Lakers, how can you say that? We never played them."

But Thompson is already gunning for an all-time spot, ahead of his father.
"We were better than the Showtime Lakers," Thompson chimed in.
Last year, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar bridged the two historic teams when speaking to NBA.com.
"I see certain similarities between the Warriors and the Showtime Lakers in their embrace of teamwork," Abdul-Jabbar told NBA.com's Scott Howard-Cooper. "Teamwork is what really makes this game function and they are consummate team players. I saw an article on them in the New York Times and it compared them to the Count Basie band. I kind of enjoyed that a lot because Count Basie's band was a big band in my household [growing up] and I understand what they're talking about. They're exciting. They just seemed to come out of nowhere. But they make you smile and make you want to dance. I think along with the Showtime Lakers, they're making a little bit homage to Count Basie. I like that."
The Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA Finals five times between the 1979 and 1987 seasons. The 1986 squad won 65 games in the regular season, before winning the title.
