INDIANAPOLIS, June 1 (UPI) -- Indiana Pacers forward Paul George will go from the depths of the bench to the spotlight of a video game cover, following a brilliant comeback season.

George, who was sidelined two seasons ago with a leg injury, averaged 23.1 points, 7 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.9 steals per game this season. He scored 41 points in the All-Star game and was All-NBA Third Team.

The official announcement for the cover athlete is still set to be made Wednesday night. Sony listed it for pre-order on its website, before deleting the post. The Sony post profiled George on the standard edition of the game and Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant on its 'Legend Edition' and 'Legend Edition Gold.'

As Sporting News speculates, the fact that George is featured in a Team USA jersey in the cover art, could mean the introduction of an Olympics game mode.
