OAKLAND, Calif., May 31 (UPI) -- Several Golden State fans chanted "Bernie, Bernie, Bernie" during the Warriors' Western Conference Finals Game 7 win Monday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The chants came after Vermont Senator and presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders arrived at halftime with actor Danny Glover. The duo took their seats in section 108, row 15, according to ABC News. Tickets in Sanders' section were estimated to cost around $1,700 each, according to the New York Daily News.

Sanders and his campaign spokesperson, Michael Briggs, made comparisons with Golden State's 3-1 deficit to the Thunder and his battle with Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination.

"Did you know that the Golden State Warriors were down 3-1 in what many of the experts said was a mathematical impossibility?" Briggs told ABC News. "Now, they're back, in a position where in California they could come from behind, and score a major victory."

After the game, Sanders wrote on Facebook: "Last week, Golden State was down three games to one. Tonight, they finished off a great comeback in California. I like comebacks."

Briggs said the tickets were "privately purchased" and given to Sanders, according to the Daily News.

In February, the Guardian reported on Sanders' basketball talents in his 30's. The Guardian quoted men who played with Sanders as saying that the senator "could kill you" with his mid-range jumpshot.

Glover has actively campaigned for Sanders following his February endorsement. The Daily News also reported that Warriors owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber have "both donated mostly to Democratic politicians."

The California Democratic primary is next Tuesday.
