Stephen Curry out at least two weeks with MCL sprain

OAKLAND, Calif., April 25 (UPI) -- Sweat spots seem somewhat harmless, until they force the NBA MVP out of the playoffs.

The Golden State Warriors tweeted an update on its superstar Monday, stating that guard Stephen Curry will be re-evaluated in two weeks, following a first half fall in Game 4 Sunday. Curry appeared to slip in sweat, forcing his body awkwardly to the court against the Houston Rockets.

"Warriors guard Stephen Curry underwent an MRI this morning that revealed a Grade 1 MCL sprain in his right knee," the Warriors' report said. "He will be re-evaluated in two weeks."

"Curry suffered the injury on the last play of the first half of Game 4 last night at Houston and was diagnosed with a sprained right knee by the team's medical staff on site," the report said.

The 'Baby-Faced Assassin' averaged 30.1 points, 6.7 assists, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game this season for the record-breaking Warriors.

"We've relied on our depth all year -- not just when Steph's out," Draymond Green told reporters Tuesday. "I think we're the deepest team in the NBA."

Curry was also mentioned as a candidate for the NBA's Most Improved Player award, despite winning MVP last season.

Curry, 28, sat out the Warriors' first three playoff games this season against the Rockets due to a sprained right ankle.
