LOS ANGELES, March 12 (UPI) -- A pair of Michael Jordan's shoes he wore during a 1984 game against the Los Angeles Lakers are headed to the auction block.

Khalid Ali was a ball boy when the Los Angeles Lakers played the Chicago Bulls in 1984 when he asked Jordan for the pair of red, white and black shoes on his feet during warmups. Jordan planned to switch out for the game so gave the shoes to Ali.

They are suspected to be one of the first pairs of Air Jordans, and projected to sell for at least $50,000.

Ali has been holding onto the shoes for 30 years.

"They were in my mom's closet," Ali said. "I didn't really talk about them much. People who met me after my teenage years don't even know I have them."

Jordan recently joined the Forbes list of billionaires due to the success of Air Jordans.

The online auction will begin April 8 and will conclude April 25.
