Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Former Milwaukee Brewers infielder Mike Moustakas agreed to a deal with the Cincinnati Reds on Monday.

League sources told ESPN and MLB Media that Moustakas and the Reds are in agreement on a four-year, $64 million contract. The 31-year-old slugger became a free agent for the third consecutive off-season after earning $18.7 million in a pair of one-year agreements.

In 143 games last season, Moustakas had a .254 batting average with 35 home runs and 87 RBIs, earning his third All-Star nod. He began the season at second base, but shifted to third when Travis Shaw slumped. According to ESPN, the Reds plan to use Moustakas at second.

The Kansas City Royals selected Moustakas with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2007 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut with the club in 2011 and eventually played a key role in helping the Royals reach the World Series twice, including their championship victory in 2015.

The Royals traded Moustakas to the Brewers for Brett Phillips and Jorge Lopez in July 2018. In eight-plus MLB seasons, Moustakas has a .252 average, 182 homers and 561 RBIs.
