May 24 (UPI) -- Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. completed a unique putout Thursday, throwing out Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers from the seat of his pants.

Devers lined a ground ball to Guerrero, who speared the ball before falling down. Guerrero recovered and moved into a sitting position before throwing the ball to first.

First baseman Rowdy Tellez caught the ball on the bounce for the 5-3 putout.

The out served as one of Toronto's few highlights in Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Red Sox. Toronto allowed seven runs in the final four innings for their second straight defeat.

The Blue Jays are 20-30 this season. Toronto is 12 1 /2 games back of the New York Yankees for first place in the AL East Division.
