Toronto is also expected to call up infielder/outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. on Friday. Gurriel hit .175 in 13 games for the Blue Jays earlier this year before being sent to Triple-A Buffalo.

Toronto called up third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. last month. Guerrero has five home runs and 11 RBIs in 83 at-bats with the Blue Jays this season.

Vladimir Guerrero Sr. was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year.

The Blue Jays are 20-30 this season. Toronto is 12 1/2 games behind the New York Yankees, who are in first place in the AL East Division.
