Shoemaker, 32, posted a 4.94 ERA and was 2-2 in seven starts last season for the Los Angeles Angels. The six-year veteran owns a career 3.93 ERA and a 40-32 record in 101 appearances, all with the Angels.

Shoemaker's best season came in 2014, when he posted a 16-4 record and a 3.04 ERA for the Angels. His .800 winning percentage was tops in the American League that season.

He joins Marcus Stroman, Aaron Sanchez and Ryan Borucki in the Blue Jays' starting rotation.
