Oakland Athletics agree to deal with RHP Joakim Soria

Dec. 21 (UPI) -- The Oakland Athletics have agreed to a contract with right-handed pitcher Joakim Soria.

Sources told USA Today and MLB Network that the deal is for two years and $15 million.

Soria, 34, posted a 3.12 ERA and a 3-4 a record with 16 saves in 66 appearances last season for the Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers. The two-time All-Star owns a career 2.88 ERA and has 220 saves in 11 seasons for the Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers, Pittsburgh Pirates, White Sox and Brewers.

Soria was traded from the Royals to the White Sox in January before being traded to the Brewers in July.

His contract is pending a physical. The Athletics have yet to confirm the signing.
