Dec. 17 (UPI) -- The New York Mets have signed free agent catcher Wilson Ramos.

A source told MLB.com that the Mets agree to a two-year, $19 million contract with the backstop. The Mets have not confirmed the deal, which is pending a physical.

Ramos, 31, hit .306 last season with 15 home runs and 70 RBIs in 111 games for the Tampa Bay Rays and Philadelphia Phillies. The two-time All-Star began the season with the Rays before being traded to the Phillies in July.

Ramos has also suited up for the Minnesota Twins and Washington Nationals. He will likely be involved in a catching tandem with the Mets' Travis d'Arnaud.

Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen met with Ramos last week at the Winter Meetings in Las Vegas. The Mets also signed free agent Jeurys Familia during the Winter Meetings.
