Nov. 16 (UPI) -- The Miami Marlins will sport a new logo, color scheme and jerseys, starting in the 2019 season.

Miami unveiled the new threads on Thursday. The franchise calls the colors "Caliente Red, Miami Blue, Midnight Black and Slate Grey." Miami will also use two logos. The primary insignia features a marlin hovering over the stitching of "Miami." The other logo features a marlin looping over an "M."

Merchandise with the new colors and logos went on sale at 9 a.m. on Friday. The Marlins' previous color scheme was black, yellow, red-orange and blue.

"All of our work and hustle is for the city across our chest," the Marlins tweeted Friday, along with a video of the new threads.

The uniform and logo change aren't the only alterations for the franchise, now headed by longtime New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter and billionaire Bruce Sherman. The Marlins are also replacing their infamous outfield home run sculpture with a Center Field Zone and standing room only section.

"It's a new beginning, a new chapter in this organization," Jeter told MLB.com. "There's a lot of history here with this organization -- some good, some bad. But we have a new group that's in town. We want this to represent a new beginning."

The outfield walls at Marlins Park will also be painted Miami ocean blue. Miami announced in August that it was also adding an outfield section that allows fans to bring musical instruments that they can play during games.
