Nov. 7 (UPI) -- American League MVP finalist Mookie Betts continued his spectacular year by welcoming a newborn daughter.
The Boston Red Sox superstar announced the arrival of his first child with partner Brianna Hammonds on Tuesday with a series of photos posted to social media. He posted more photos on Wednesday.
"Never knew what unconditional love meant or how it felt until I met this little princess," Betts wrote for his social media caption on Tuesday. "Nov. 6 2018 is a day I'll never forget."
His Wednesday photos featured a shot of his daughter's face and a shot of himself making a similar expression.
"Just like her daddy," Betts wrote.
Betts, 26, led the league with a .346 batting average and 129 runs scored in 136 games this season for the Red Sox. The three-time All-Star also hit a career-best 32 home runs for the World Series champions. He is eligible for arbitration this offseason.
