Dodgers ding seven homers in win vs. Mets

June 25 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers hit seven solo home runs in an 8-7 win against the New York Mets at Citi Field in New York.

The big fly bonanza kicked off in the top of the first inning of Sunday's triumph. Enrique Hernandez stepped up as the game's leadoff hitter.

Hernandez took two balls from Mets starter Jerry Blevins, before blasting a 2-0 fastball over the left field fence. That solo job traveled 392 feet, according to Statcast. Hernandez returned for another solo shot in the top of the sixth frame. That blast traveled 402 feet.

Cody Bellinger also homered twice in the win. Max Muncy, Joc Pederson and Justin Turner joined Bellinger and Hernandez in the solo home run fest.

Hernandez in first and sixth

The Dodgers shortstop's first home run left his bat at 101.7 mph. His second blast left the park at 102.3 mph, according to Statcast. He gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead with the first solo shot and tied the game at 4-4 on his second home run.

Muncy in first

Dodgers infielder Max Muncy went back-to-back with Hernandez to start the game. His solo shot off of Blevins came on the seventh pitch of the exchange. He smoked an 86.9 mph fastball to left center field for a 366 foot home run.

Bellinger in fourth and eighth

Dodgers star Cody Bellinger hit his 14th home run of the season in the top of the fourth inning against Tim Peterson. He worked a 2-2 count before blasting a 91.2 mph fastball to center field for a 415 foot bomb.

Bellinger's second solo shot came in the eighth frame against Mets reliever Anthony Swarzak. The Dodgers led the Mets 6-4 before Bellinger belted that long ball to right field for a 368 foot home run.

Pederson in seventh

The Dodgers outfielder homered off of Swarzak in the seventh frame, giving the Dodgers a 5-4 edge. Swarzak threw a ball with his first pitch before getting a called strike on his second offering. Pederson then smacked an 84.4 mph slider to right field for a 437 foot solo home run.

Turner in 11th

The final home run of the game was a go-ahead shot from Turner in the top of the 11th inning off of Chris Flexin.

Turner took an 81.7 mph slider for a ball on the first pitch of that exchange, before sending a 402 foot blast to left field, putting the Dodgers up 8-7.
