Reds fan makes incredible catch while holding baby

By
Alex Butler

June 7 (UPI) -- A Cincinnati Reds fan pulled off a skilled over-the-shoulder grab -- while attached to a baby -- during a loss to the Colorado Rockies in Cincinnati.

The catch came in the top of the second inning of the Reds' 6-3 setback to the Rockies Wednesday at Great American Ball Park. The Reds and Rockies were tied at 0-0 when left fielder Gerardo Parra stepped in to face Reds starter Sal Romano.

The righty began the inning by striking out Trevor Story. He started his exchange with Parra by throwing in a 93.8-mph fastball. Parra smacked the pitch down the left field line and toward a group of fans.

The ball hovered toward the small crowd before a man stood up -- with a baby attatched to his stomach -- and began to track its flight path. The man turned his body away from the field and stuck out his right arm, snagging the baseball. Fans in the crowd congratulated the man for the catch before he handed the ball over to the youngster.

Romano ended up striking out Parra on the next pitch. He walked Ian Desmond, before allowing an RBI double to Tony Wolters. Romano struck out Jon Gray to end the inning.
