May 21 (UPI) -- Baseball legend Keith Hernandez was on hand to analyze a terrific diving catch by a ballboy during a New York Mets win against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The ballboy showed his fielding range during the Mets' 4-1 triumph Sunday at Citi Field in New York. Mets pinch hitter Asdrubal Cabrera was at the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning facing Jorge De La Rosa.
The Diamondbacks left-hander threw two balls to the Mets infielder before tossing in an 82.9-mph splitter. Cabrera hacked at the offering, sending it down the left field line. The ball hit the ground hard and careened toward the rolled-up tarp near the fans. After hitting the tarp, the ball shot up into the air in foul territory. The ballboy had his eyes locked in on the flight path, before leaving his feet and diving face-first into the tarp and making the grab.
"What a play! Up against the tarp down the left field line," Hernandez said during the broadcast. "What a play by BB!"

Cabrera also fouled off the next three pitches, working the count to 2-2. He hit De La Rosa's seventh offering deep to center field for a two-run home run.
