May 15 (UPI) -- The Miami Marlins overcame home runs from Cody Bellinger and Yasiel Puig to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-2 Tuesday at Marlins Park in Miami, Fla.

Marlins starter Wei-Yin Chen allowed just three hits in 4.1 shutout innings for the Marlins. J.T. Realmuto led Miami at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

"I think it's just a game where your starting pitching ... and Wei-Yin threw a quality game to that point," Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. "He kept them off the board and allowed us to scratch for a couple of runs."

The Marlins plated their first run in the bottom of the first inning. Brian Anderson grounded into a force out and Martin Prado came flying around third base to put the Marlins up 1-0.

Miguel Rojas increased the home team's lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, hitting a sacrifice fly to center field.

But Puig cut the Dodgers' deficit in half in the top of the seventh frame. The Dodgers right fielder stepped in to face Marlins reliever Tayron Guerrero during the exchange. Guerrero threw in two fastballs in excess of 100-mph, getting a 1-1 count against Puig. The Dodgers slugger smacked his third offering -- an 84.1-mph slider -- deep to left center field for a solo bomb.

Realmuto plated the Marlins' third run in the bottom of the inning, bringing in Yadiel Rivera on a line drive double to left field. Dodgers reliever J.T. Chargois walked Starlin Castro in the next at-bat. Brian Anderson followed the free pass by knocking in Realmuto on an RBI single.

Bellinger made things interesting in the top of the ninth inning. The Dodgers All-Star stepped to the plate as the second batter of the frame. He settled in against Marlins closer Brad Ziegler and worked a 1-1 count against the righty. Bellinger sent the third offering of the exchange very deep to dead center, clearing the 407 sign on the outfield fence for his sixth home run of the season. The shot traveled an estimated 443-feet.

Ziegler got the next two batters out to earn the save and preserve the Marlins win.

"The Dodgers are a great team. They have a great lineup. During the whole game the only thing I was thinking about is trying to keep the ball down," Wei-Yen Chen said. "I was happy that I was able to do that and control the game like I wanted to."
