May 3 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Angels slugger Mike Trout broke Statcast, which said he hit a 524-foot homer in a win against the Baltimore Orioles.
The long ball came in the Angels' 10-7 victory against the Orioles Wednesday at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim, Calif.
Trout stepped up to the plate with his team trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning. Ian Kinsler hit a fly ball for the Angels' first out of the frame before Trout walked to the plate to face Orioles starter Dylan Bundy. The right-handed hurler threw a 90.4-mph four-seam fastball for a ball with his first pitch.
Trout then crushed his 90.1-mph four-seam fastball deep to left field for the lengthy blast. The ball left the park at 116.8 mph, according to Statcast. MLB.com reported that the reading was not accurate.
