By Alex Butler

Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Carlos Correa earned two rings on Wednesday night: One for a World Series victory and another after a proposal.

The Houston Astros star went 1-for-4 in a 5-1 Game 7 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers, earning his first championship. After celebrating with his team, Correa had some more plans in mind.

He prepared for an on-field interview with Fox. When reporter Ken Rosenthal stepped up to interview the shortstop, he turned to his girlfriend.

"Right now I'm about to take another big step in my life," Correa said. "Daniella Rodriguez, will you make me the happiest man in the world? Will you marry me? Will you marry me?"

"Oh my god," Rodriguez said. The couple then shared a long embrace.

"Can I put it on you?" Correa asked. "Yes?"

"Yes!" Rodriguez replied.

The two then exchanged kisses in front of friends and family.

"Let's celebrate now," Correa yelled to the crowd.

Correa, 23, is a native of Puerto Rico. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 MLB June Amateur Draft. The 2015 American League Rookie of the Year made his first All-Star Game this season. He was 8-for-29 with two home runs and 5 RBI in the World Series. Correa hit .288 with five home runs and 14 RBI in the postseason for the Astros.
