Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Washington Nationals star and Las Vegas native Bryce Harper will honor his hometown with special cleats Friday in the National League Division Series.

Harper's special kicks, made by Under Armour and designed by SolesBySir, have a white body with red and yellow accents.

The cleats have the famous "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada" logo, with the words "pray for" in front of the sign on one shoe. The other shoe features a heart and a skyline of the city with the words "pray for."

Harper posted a photo of the shoes on Thursday to his Instagram account.

"Vegas this is for you! #VegasStrong #HomeTown," Harper wrote on the caption for the post.

Harper, 24, hit .319 this season with 29 home runs and 99 RBI for the Nationals. The five-time All-Star and 2015 National League MVP has three hits in his last six games.

He hit his last home run on Aug. 7 against the Miami Marlins. Harper was out from Aug. 13 through Sept. 25 after suffering a knee injury against the San Francisco Giants.

Harper wore a "#VegasStrong" hooded sweatshirt on Thursday during a Nationals workout.

The perennial All-Star went to the College of Southern Nevada after attending Las Vegas High School.

"The pride of Vegas runs deep when you are born and raised in such a great town," Harper tweeted Monday. "I can't fathom the horrific event that has taken place!"

"My thoughts and prayers go out to the families that have been affected by this and to all the people that have lost their lives way too soon! Las Vegas I love you and stand with you."

Harper also talked to reporters recently about the tragedy in his hometown. He said that he had friends and family attending the concert.

"It's been pretty surreal," Harper said, according to ESPN. "Just from talking to friends, talking to family that were definitely at the concert and seeing the things that have happened and transpired from that, it just goes to show how strong our community is in Vegas, how much of a small-knit community it can be."
