Baseball's all-time-best turnaround story meets the sport's all-time-best playoff team when the postseason gets underway Tuesday at 8:09 p.m. EDT with the New York Yankees hosting the Minnesota Twins in the American League wild-card game.

Minnesota, coming off a 100-loss season in 2016, will send Ervin Santana (16-8, 3.28 ERA) to the mound. He will be opposed by New York's Luis Severino (14-6, 2.98). Before the Twins (85-77) this year, no team previously made the postseason one year after losing at least 100 games.
