The St. Louis Cardinals placed third baseman Jedd Gyorko on the 10-day disabled list Sunday with a right hamstring strain.

Gyorko, 29, left Saturday night's game against the Tampa Bay Rays while running the bases in the eighth inning, pulling up as he rounded third.

Gyorko is batting .272 with 18 home runs and a team-leading 64 RBIs in 114 games this season.

In a corresponding move, the Cardinals called up first baseman Luke Voit from Triple-A Memphis. He was available for Sunday afternoon's game at Busch Stadium against the Rays.

Voit, 26, played in 43 games for the Cardinals earlier this year in his rookie major league season, hitting .253 with three homers and 13 RBIs. He is batting .327 with 13 home runs and 50 RBIs in 74 minor league games in the Pacific Coast League.
