Darvish, who missed eight games due to lower back tightness, will make his 26th start of the season this afternoon and fourth as a Dodger. He last pitched on Aug. 16 against the Chicago White Sox, allowing three runs on eight hits in six innings with two strikeouts and did not factor in the decision in the Dodgers' 5-4 victory.
Since being acquired on July 31 from the Texas Rangers, Darvish has gone 2-0 with a 2.50 ERA over 18 innings with 22 strikeouts against four walks in three starts.
On the season, Darvish is 8-9 with a 3.83 ERA over 155 innings and has held hitters to a .227 average while striking out 170 against 49 walks in 26 combined starts with the Rangers and Dodgers.
The Dodgers also placed right-hander Josh Fields on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to Aug. 25, with a lower back strain.
Fields is 5-1 with a 2.68 ERA and one save over 47 innings in 47 relief appearances this season. He last pitched on Aug. 24, going one-third of an inning at Pittsburgh.
