ARLINGTON, Texas -- Chicago rookie Nicky Delmonico's torrid major-league start continued Friday night as he homered twice and lifted the White Sox to a 4-3 victory over the Texas Rangers.

Delmonico hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning and then broke a 3-3 tie with an inside-the-park homer in the eighth.

The win ended a five-game losing streak for the White Sox and snapped a four-game winning streak for the Rangers.

Delmonico has five homers in 15 big-league games and his three RBIs on Friday pushed his total to 11.

Delmonico, who has reached safely in 14 of his first 15 games, led off the eighth by lining a ball to right field off Ricky Rodriguez (0-1) that sent Rangers outfielder Nomar Mazara crashing into the wall. Mazara stayed down while Delmonico raced around the bases for the first inside-the-park homer by a Chicago player since Brett Lawrie on July 25, 2016.

Delmonico finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a walk and made a winner of Gregory Infante (1-1), who retired all five batters he faced for his first major-league win.

Juan Minaya pitched a scoreless ninth for his first major-league save by working around a leadoff walk.

The White Sox took an early 1-0 lead off Texas starter Andrew Cashner when Leury Garcia scored on an error. Chicago starter James Shields made that run stand up until Mike Napoli hit a two-run homer into the Texas bullpen in the fourth inning.

The White Sox regained the lead in the sixth when Delmonico ripped a Cashner pitch to right for a two-run homer to put Chicago up 3-2.

Texas tied the score in the bottom of the seventh on a Delino DeShields grounder. Shields was charged with two runs and five hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Cashner had his streak of quality starts end at six, allowing three runs (two earned) in 5 2/3 innings.

Tim Anderson had three of the nine Chicago hits and Jose Abreu went 2-for-5.

The White Sox took advantage of a Rangers error to get a run off Cashner in the first inning. Two walks and a single got Cashner in trouble, but he appeared to get out of it on a Yolmer Sanchez grounder to second. But Rougned Odor booted the ball, allowing Leury Garcia to score.

Shields made the run stand up into the fourth inning. That's when Napoli hit a two-run homer into the Texas bullpen to put the Rangers up 2-1. It was the 25th homer of the season for Napoli, who now has four seasons with at least 25 home runs.
